The actor humorously took to Twitter, thanking the NYPD for their seemingly generous security at his Brooklyn Bowl show, thus stirring an enormous wave of hilarious responses from his followers.

Misha Collins wrote on his Twitter account, “Thanks for being proactive, NYPD,” followed by links that appear to refer to the extra security in place, Dear God, was that a real thank you or Misha being Misha? Either way, the internet was laughing its head off.
One @1954Thunder joked: “Just want to know if they are there to protect you during your show or to protect the audience from you!”-a nod to Collins’ occasional unpredictable antics both off and on screen. Another fan, @EmilyRB, chimed in with: “Their restraint for not rushing to you for a selfie is quite commendable,” referencing just how lovely he really is.
Another fan suddenly burst out laughing w/ @kasialke’s reply: “WAIT. YOU DIDN’T HAVE TO TAG THE POLICE… 😭😭🤣,” as if Collins had just escalated a minor issue into a full-blown law-enforcement scandal. @Adri_bertolin then chimed in with a bit of cultural touch: “I don’t want to show off the superior treatment people receive in my country, but street dogs will protect you like no one else,” half in jest, half suggesting that Brazil’s stray dogs might really give the NYPD a run for their money.
Not all remained comedic, however. A few people took this chance to praise the impact of Collins: One such instance was @julia_lucky777’s, “Misha, you’re really Great! Even if the police have mobilized all their forces to protect my lovely Angel, then the love for you and Cass is really all-encompassing!” In other words- a well-intended, slightly over-the-top tribute.
Another came at a different angle, however, taking @hilubye’s SNSFW-ish bomb to new heights in laughter, and then @JO_MCLLIS reacted, saying, “It was weird reading your comment, but you made me laugh,” confirming that even Collins’ fanbase is weirdly unpredictable like him.
Meanwhile, no Misha Collins discussion is ever finished without bringing up something Supernatural-related. @DrDeppressionn gave these references a nod, “I got to the part in Supernatural where u tweet every thing hahaha accurate 😂,” pointing to Castiel’s awkward yet endearing attempts at human integration.
While the NYPD has yet to comment on whether or not the previously mentioned security beefing-up was really for Collins (let’s be real, it probably wasn’t), making a casual thank you a viral moment is another very Misha thing to do. I don’t know whether he is trolling his fans or if he really has cast himself as the angel he plays on Supernatural; what I do know is that no one could genuinely compete with him when it comes to causing an uproar online.

And if they were really on alert? Maybe they’ve since made it through a few GISH scavenger hunts and realized a little preemptive alertness was necessary. Just throwing that out there.
