Six years ago, Lizzo released the album Cuz I Love You. And when one mentions it on the internet, they mean trouble. Some are in celebratory mode, some in hating mode, and some are just here to further their agenda. In short: a Twitter hurricane.

The album–the kind of thing that hit with Truth Hurts and Juice–stirred cultural reset in favor of body positivity. But for some, it just wasn’t nostalgic. One user spoke plainly, And no one cared; another made a joke, Before ozempic was a thing. Ouch.
Then the love oh-so-splendiferous came in. Some fan gushed, Lizzo gave us quite a banger album still blasting Truth Hurts on repeat. An iconic. Lizzo is making a statement beyond music, went another. Not that all vibes turned positive; there were cheap shots about her weight, like walks-a-beautiful-path comments about Elizabeth being so fat and six years ago Lizzo was super FAT. Real mature, guys.
Some randoms showed up too, the one who put theirs out with no context whatsoever. And another who insisted Lizzo’s album shared its birthday with Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poet’s Department. Why not?
Another wild: Ironically, she has a song called Truth Hurts. Okay, somebody’s still sore.
Others, however, were more reflective about the anniversary. ‘Damn this post made me realize I’m old now,’ one user bemoaned. Same, buddy. Same.
You would hate it if you loved her, but you got to admit Lizzo has made a mark. Six years later, ‘Cuz I Love You’ continues to stir up controversies, memes, and, let’s face it, some really, really messy replies. But hey, that is what really happens when your music is that polarizing.

Happy birthday to the album that, for some ironic reason, continues to set people off on a war of words in the replies. Don’t change, internet. Don’t change.
