A loudmouth on the radio, notorious Alex Jones, allegedly linked Congressman Adam Schiff to convicted felon Ed Buck with what he calls a smoking gun. The tweet included a picture of Schiff with Ed Buck, who is now in jail for 30 years for drugging and killing young black men. Jones then went on to say meet deep state puppet Adam Schiff-the replies blitzed faster than Jones’ trademark rants.

The picture itself shows what appears to be a social event with the two getting all cuddly. Apparently before the conviction, Buck used to be a big donor to the Democrats, but he became notorious for being involved in drug-related overdose, multiple murders during sexual assignations. Clearly, Jones is insinuating that an association with Buck is proof of some corruption or cover-up on the part of Schiff.
Somehow the replies began flooding in, and a few went into full conspiracy-theory mode. According to user Bratbot-the reference to the infamous Jeffrey Epstein client list, which for all manners and purposes has become a right-wing obession-‘Adam schiff is on the Epstine list. Just wait.’ Others like RaDmiAn took a much more calm and composed route, but jokingly suggested, ‘It’s just that schiff didn’t get caught.’
THEN things got weird. Other responses were completely off-politics like MichelleStiles out of nowhere advertising some stock trader named Landon. Classic Twitter move right there. Then, of course, there came the obligatory comments in Spanish auto-translated with a user pondering at some deep insights around 3 am about how that public institution trust is affected.
Some interesting stuff were found in the reply thread by Wyeth Joseph-especially those who really knew Buck back in the days. Then Kathy Walters-Brooks let fly this nostalgic bomb: ‘I went to high school with Ed Buck in the early seventies…I thought he was dreamy.’ Ouch. That really aged poorly.
More seriously, some comments probed why Schiff wasn’t under greater scrutiny for his associations. To this Cooke Patricia said, ‘Adam himself need to be asked a few questions about his involvement.’ Meanwhile, user A6BNinH-e7rd1QnOgoD3dd began to go into all caps: ‘Schiff is a Sick one…Make NO mistake.’ There was, indeed, unanimity on the fact that subtlety was not the forte of these replies.
Given the profusion of things to dispute in the grand politicized manner, Jones’ old old-pic of the stuff must have triggered all kinds of what-aboutism: “I voted for trump now gimme my money back from military industrial complex”, as Derrick L. somehow managed to swivel the discussion back.
Hundreds of replies came in within hours to prove two things: 1) Alex Jones is still capable of riling people up, and 2) Twitter will throw any political discussion into utter flames in a matter of minutes. Jones has some explaining to do regarding his implication’s veracity buttressed by the photo, but that definitely establishes that Schiff did know Buck prior to the knowledge of Buck’s sin.

Those commenting here note that something not very exciting might actually be true, but the political climate of our day suggests correct captioning of an old photo gives rise to all sorts of rumor-generating opportunities. Schiff’s office has yet to respond to Jones’ tweet, but given Jones’ long history of document-turning of all his claims to avoid legal problems-wise perhaps in almost all cases for them to give this one the hush treatment.
